BEI
International All of BEI's Large Self-Propelled
harvesters use the same basic frame with very few differences.
- The
machine's travel speed, picking height and harvesting head operation
are all controlled by the operator.
- A hydrostatic
transmission gives the operator infinitely variable ground speed.
There are hydraulic cylinders on each of the four wheels, which allow
easy leveling control to allow the harvester to handle uneven terrain.
- BEI's
special rack and pinion power steering allows the harvester to turn
in it's own length. All of our harvesters are power by Cummin's diesel
engines. Cummin's is know for fuel economy and reliability.

Sway
Harvester
The sway
type mechanism is best suited to trellised plantings and low density,
free standing bushes. The mechanism compresses the bush and sways it
side-to-side removing the fruit. The front sway assembly works opposite
the rear assembly creating a wave in the plant row. Various finger sizes
are available for maximum effectiveness in harvesting.
BEI offers Rotary and Sway type Cane Fruit Harvesters. Both models offer gentle fruit handling. The model show above uses a sway type picking mechanism. Cane Fruit Harvesters are based on BEI’s world famous blueberry harvesters.
BEI’s Cane Fruit Harvesters use stainless steel bucket conveyors that cradle
the fruit as it is conveyed to the rear of the harvester. They also have sorting tables
on the rear of the harvester for quick and efficient sorting before the fruit is put into
lugs. The harvesters have more lug storage capacity than a blueberry harvester of a
similar type.
BEI’s Cane Fruit Harvesters can harvest Raspberries, Blackberries,
Boysenberries, Marionberries and many other types of cane fruits. And if you need,
the harvester can even pick blueberries.
Controls that provide operating ease
The machine’s travel speed, picking
height and harvesting head operations are all
controlled by the operator. One lever gives the
operator infinitely variable ground speed control.
Setting the picking height and leveling the
machine are done through three level control
levers. Two of the levers control the front wheels
and the third controls the rear wheels. The
harvesting head speed control adjusts the amount
of vibration used in the two rotating picking
heads. This enables the operator to vary the
picking frequency to match changing crop
conditions and varieties.
Picking efficiency promotes high yields
The BEI NJ Sway BlueberryHarester usessway picking heads,
conveyors and air blast
cleaners for harvesting efficiency.
The Top Load Harvester uses sway picking heads, conveyors and air blast
cleaners for harvesting efficiency.
The sway picking consist of four sets or beaters. The beaters work in pairs to compress the bush and then sway the bush from side to side to remove the ripe fruit. The frint sway assembly works opposite the rear assembly creating a wave in the plant row. The speed of the sway mechanism is fully adjustable. Adjustments for bush density and the amount the mechanism crosses the center are independently controlled.
Unmatched maneuverability!
Rack and pinion
power steering allows the
harvester to turn in its own
length. The result is a
minimum of turning space at
the end of a row for turn
around and row re-entry.
Diesel and Hydraulic power reliability
A Cummins four cylinder diesel engine
provides power for all hydraulic systems on the
harvester. Cummins engines are known for their
reliability and performance.
The harvesters propulsion is provided
through a hydrostatic transmission coupled with
independent hydraulic motors within each of the
four wheels. This assures positive control under
all ground conditions.
