- The
machine's travel speed, picking height and harvesting head operation
are all controlled by the operator.
- A hydrostatic
transmission gives the operator infinitely variable ground speed.
There are hydraulic cylinders on each of the four wheels, which allow
easy leveling control to allow the harvester to handle uneven terrain.
- BEI's
special rack and pinion power steering allows the harvester to turn
in it's own length. All of our harvesters are power by Cummin's diesel
engines. Cummin's is know for fuel economy and reliability.
Rotary
Harvester (KSR)
The BEI Rotary Head mechanism is the most gentle picking mechanism we offer. The 288 Nylon picking fingers penetrate the bush for effective harvesting of the entire bush. The vibration of the fingers is fully adjustable to maximize fruit quality under your field conditions. Each cluster of fingers can be individually adjusted for varying degrees of resistance in different portions of the bush. The rotary head assembly can be manually positioned in and out from the tunnel side walls to handle a wide range of bush sizes.
The BEI Rotary Blueberry Harvester is designed to meet the highest production
demands. The machine efficiently harvests blueberries at their desired ripeness,
while leaving the not ripe fruit for later harvesting. The last pickings of the season
which are not economical to hand pick, can be profitably harvested by the machine.
BEI’s Rotary Blueberry Harvester will decrease picking time and labor expense,
while it increases the crop yield and PROFIT.

Controls that provide operating ease
The machine’s travel speed, picking
height and harvesting head operations are all
controlled by the operator. One lever gives the
operator infinitely variable ground speed control.
Setting the picking height and leveling the
machine are done through three level control
levers. Two of the levers control the front wheels
and the third controls the rear wheels. The
harvesting head speed control adjusts the amount
of vibration used in the two rotating picking
heads. This enables the operator to vary the
picking frequency to match changing crop
conditions and varieties.
Picking efficiency promotes high yields
The BEI Rotary Blueberry Harvester
uses rotary picking heads, conveyors and air blast
cleaners for harvesting efficiency.
The two rotary picking heads contain 288
nylon fingers. These fingers vibrate and comb
the bushes as they are rotated through them. This
action shakes the ripe blueberries from the
bushes. These picking heads provide faster,
more economical mechanical harvesting.

Diesel and Hydraulic power reliability
A Cummins four cylinder diesel engine
provides power for all hydraulic systems on the
harvester. Cummins engines are known for their
reliability and performance.
The harvesters propulsion is provided
through a hydrostatic transmission coupled with
independent hydraulic motors within each of the
four wheels. This assures positive control under
all ground conditions.
